What are clouds actually made of?

Clouds are made of millions of tiny water droplets, or sometimes tiny bits of ice, floating together high in the sky. Each droplet is so small and light it stays suspended in the air, and countless droplets together create the big, fluffy shapes we see.

Clouds are not soft cotton blown by the wind, and not smoke drifting from factories either; both look cloud-like but are completely different materials from water and ice.

Even though a puffy cloud looks light, the water inside it can weigh a huge amount, staying afloat only because each tiny droplet is so incredibly light.
