What is this sport called?

This sport is volleyball, where two teams stand on opposite sides of a tall net and try to hit the ball back and forth without ever letting it touch the ground on their own side. Players use their hands and arms to bump, set, and spike the ball over the net, and a team scores when the other side fails to return it properly.

Basketball involves shooting a ball through a hoop rather than hitting it over a net, and handball involves throwing a ball into a goal, so neither one matches a game centered on keeping a ball from touching the ground on your side of a net.

Volleyball is played both indoors on a hard court and outdoors on sand at the beach, and beach volleyball has its own set of Olympic medals separate from the indoor version.
