Water drops falling from clouds. Clouds hold tiny water drops, and when the drops grow heavy enough they fall as rain. That water once floated up from oceans and lakes, so it keeps going round and round.

Clouds hold tiny water drops, and when the drops grow heavy enough they fall as rain. That water once floated up from oceans and lakes, so it keeps going round and round.

Rain comes from tiny water droplets inside clouds that slowly bump into each other and combine into bigger, heavier drops. Once a droplet gets too heavy for the air to hold up, it falls to the ground as rain.

Wet ground doesn't rise up into the sky to make rain, and wind alone doesn't create rain either — wind can move clouds around, but the actual rain comes from water droplets falling out of them.

That same rainwater doesn't disappear after it lands — it soaks into soil, flows into rivers and oceans, and eventually evaporates back up into the sky to form new clouds, over and over again.
