Which space telescope is this?

The James Webb Space Telescope launched on Christmas Day 2021 and observes mainly in infrared light, letting it detect the faint, stretched-out light from some of the universe's earliest galaxies that visible-light telescopes can't see. Its enormous gold-coated segmented mirror gives it far greater light-gathering power than any space telescope before it.

The Hubble Space Telescope, launched decades earlier, mainly observes visible and ultraviolet light and remains valuable, but it is smaller and less powerful than Webb. Kepler was a different NASA telescope entirely, designed to find exoplanets by watching stars dim as planets passed in front, not to image deep-field galaxies.

Webb sits about a million miles from Earth, far beyond the Moon, at a gravitationally stable point that keeps it in constant shadow behind a sunshield the size of a tennis court, cold enough to detect the faint infrared glow of the early universe.
