Octopuses are amazing sea creatures with soft squishy bodies and eight wiggly arms!

How many arms does an octopus have?

Eight
An octopus has eight arms lined with suckers, and amazingly each arm can taste, touch, and even move a bit on its own!

An octopus has eight flexible arms lined with suckers that help it grip, taste, and explore. Each arm has its own cluster of nerve cells, letting it move somewhat independently alongside the brain.

Six arms doesn't match any real octopus anatomy. Ten arms is closer to a squid, which has eight arms plus two longer tentacles, easy to confuse with an octopus but a distinct animal.

Because each arm can sense taste through touch, an octopus can essentially taste something just by touching it, a rare ability few other animals share.
