Scientists once pictured Velociraptor as a scaly lizard-like hunter, but fossil clues show it was actually covered in something much fluffier.
Fossil evidence, including preserved quill knobs on arm bones, shows Velociraptor was covered in feathers, much like a modern bird, even though it was too heavy and had the wrong wing structure to actually fly. Scientists think the feathers may have helped keep it warm or served a role in display, similar to how some birds use feathers to look impressive today.
Fur is a mammal feature and doesn't match the actual fossil evidence found on Velociraptor, and slime isn't something any known dinosaur was covered in, so neither option matches what scientists have discovered about this dinosaur's body covering.
Velociraptor was also much smaller in real life than shown in famous movies, roughly the size of a turkey, quite different from the larger, more menacing versions often portrayed on screen.
