Sometimes the Moon moves right in front of the Sun, and the sky goes dark in the middle of the day.
A solar eclipse is what happens when the Moon blocks the Sun. This occurs when the Moon lines up exactly between Earth and the Sun, and because the Moon is much smaller than the Sun but also much closer to us, it can appear to cover the Sun almost perfectly from certain spots on Earth, casting a shadow that darkens the sky for a few minutes.
A sunrise is simply the Sun appearing over the horizon each morning, nothing to do with the Moon getting in the way. A full moon describes the Moon looking completely round and bright at night, the opposite situation from an eclipse, where the Moon instead sits directly in front of the Sun.
During a total solar eclipse the sky can get dark enough that stars and planets become visible in the middle of the day, and animals sometimes act confused, behaving as though night has suddenly fallen.
